How to help your toddler talk more by using a SLIDE

toddler ideas Sep 13, 2017

Why does GRAVITY fascinate toddlers?

I'm not sure.

But I DO know that you can use gravity to help your toddler talk more using a pretend SLIDE.

In this video, you'll learn how and why to use verbal routines and repetition to help your toddler learn to talk.

Here is an example of a verbal routine:

1. Up up up up up

2. Ball!

3. Ready...set...go!

4. Boom!

5. I got it!

This video shows you how to layer in language skills with research-based strategies that Speech Language Pathologists use.

Strategies include:

  • Repetition
  • Cloze Strategy <--- Watch this video about the cloze strategy
  • Labeling
  • Modeling
  • Wait time

Skills include:

  • Joint attention
  • Turn-taking
  • Prepositions (when you say "up up up!")
  • Gross motor skills
